Find your ideal body weight based on height and gender.
⚖️ Ideal weight is a rough estimate. Muscle mass, body frame, and health matter more than any single number.
This calculator shows your ideal body weight using three classic medical formulas (Devine, Robinson, Hamwi), plus the BMI-based healthy range. Each formula was developed for different populations and gives slightly different results.
The formulas were built on different data and assumptions about body composition. They're all estimates — your true healthy weight depends on muscle mass, frame size, body fat distribution, and overall health, none of which a simple formula can capture.
The BMI-based healthy range (18.5-24.9 × your height²) is more flexible than a single ideal weight. Anywhere in that range is statistically associated with the lowest health risks for most adults.

The Ideal Weight Calculator lets you figure out ideal weight calculatorinstantly, without reaching for a spreadsheet or doing the math by hand. Whether you're planning a budget, checking a loan, or working through homework, the tool applies the correct formula behind the scenes and shows the result the moment you enter your numbers.
Unlike a static chart or table, this calculator adapts to your exact inputs. You can adjust any value and see the outcome update in real time, which makes it easy to compare scenarios — for example, "what if the rate were 1% lower?" or "what if I paid an extra $50 a month?"
Common uses: people reach for this tool when they need to find a ideal weight calculator by height, ideal weight by frame size, devine robinson hamwi formula, or healthy weight range by gender.
Browser-based tools like this one have a few real advantages over installed software or manual methods:
The Ideal Weight Calculator is based on the following formula:
Devine: men 50 + 2.3×(height_in − 60)
women 45.5 + 2.3×(height_in − 60)Variables: Ideal weight = Estimated ideal body weight (kilograms) height_in = Height in inches (inches over 5 ft, i.e., total inches − 60) 50 = Baseline kg for a 5-foot man 45.5 = Baseline kg for a 5-foot woman 2.3 = Additional kg per inch of height above 5 feet
A common formula (Devine) estimates ideal body weight in kg from height above 5 feet. It is a population reference, not a personal health target — build and muscle mass vary widely.
Worked example: Step 1: A man 5 ft 10 in tall = 70 inches. Step 2: Inches over 5 feet = 70 − 60 = 10. Step 3: 2.3 × 10 = 23 kg above the 50 kg baseline. Step 4: 50 + 23 = 73 kg ≈ 161 lb. Result: estimated ideal weight about 73 kg (161 lb).
